About Heartland's Finest
Heartland Ingredients L.L.C. was formed by a group of mid-western farmers with a desire to reach out to the consumer with great tasting, good-for-you ingredients and products.
Our Heartland's Finest branded products are a result of the special care the farmers take in producing and processing their dry beans into delicious and nutritious products. Initially, we developed ingredients and products that offered those, on a gluten-free diet, additional benefits of nutrition and taste in a convenient format that is easy to incorporate into your existing meal selection.
Heartland Ingredients L.L.C. enlisted the services of several state universities to carry-out market research, consumer surveys and to assist with product development. A nationwide celiac consumer survey conducted by the University of Nebraska and the Celiac Sprue Association and funded by Heartland Ingredients provided important insights into buying patterns and product needs.
With this survey information, additional work was accomplished by a private product development company to further develop our products. A licensed dietician, with experience working with those who are gluten intolerant, developed recipes and provided insights on product needs. Finally, Heartland Ingredients has taken the products to hundreds of gluten-intolerant people to get their reactions. The response was extremely positive and as a result the Heartland's Finest brand of pasta products and flours for home recipe preparation was introduced.
While the gluten-free population was the original market, Heartland's Finest products are now being directed towards others that are seeking nutritious, good tasting foods. The foods are made with beans resulting in a higher concentration of fiber, protein and complex carbohydrates. Heartland's Finest products are the "Nutritious What Alternative".
Throughout this discovery process, we have maintained a strong conviction, and passion, for making beneficial foods and ingredients.
